My work / Montgomerys
View Other Projects
Montgomerys on Ballymoney street in Ballymena was founded in 1930 by Robert S. Montgomery and Robbie Murdock, both from the Kells area. They had both served their time as grocers in the town before they opened their own shop. It started as a grocery and farm feeding shop and a few years later, hardware was introduced.
Requirements
Montgomerys opened a new custom built store in 2005 and needed a website to showcase all that they had to offer. They had aspirations to sell online and also wanted to provide their customers with an online wedding list feature. While all that was underway they needed a temporary web presence that offered a taster of everything on offer, restaurant, hardware store, kitchen store, internet cafe.
Solution
I consulted on, designed and developed a full ecommerce solution with wedding list feature, but alas it never saw the light of day, It really was more of an undertaking than the client had anticipated and unfortunately, resources had to be directed elsewhere. So instead I created an online marketing and information website that provided visitors with an insight into what Montgomerys had to offer. Over the years this has been toned down to its current form, comprising information about the restaurant, the internet cafe and a brief background about the family. It still offers some great calls to action, and all the information is easy to find.
